(CBS4) – Fast food is cheap and convenient but often not nutritious. Now two local, young foodies are carving out a niche with Modmarket — fast food with a twist. Fries aren't on the menu at Modmarket. Customers find that virtually everything costs less than $10, including the $2 wine. On Monday Modmarket was crowded with patrons inhaling the food. "I could tell it was healthier and I thought it was really good," a customer said. It's fast food but with a healthy twist — wheat pizza crusts, organic vegetables and gluten-free options The fast food feast is the creation of two high school buddies — one with experience in the fast food industry, and both amateur athletes. "I think we arguably have the healthiest pizza on the planet Earth and it's good," an owner said. They cook without preservatives and buy ingredients locally. Their receipts show the nutritional content of the food. The hope is they sneak in the healthy ingredients without patrons even noticing. Learn more at the Modmarket website.
